Can Robots destroy humanity?
Yea this is my first discussion post, actually not pretty good and long but It doesn't care for me.

I think It's possible, the technology passes so fast, and Intelligent War robots will be created.
Actually there would be a little error that causes the destruction(Maybe)
It's a movie basic.
But actually Robots can produce his own buildings to fight humans,I don't know if that can be actually possible...
So what you guys think?
Running away...
Yeah, I dunno about this one. Not sure whether to close (because of subpar OP) or not. I'll give it a few days to see if anything develops.

Prior reading of this recent news article about autonomous weapons (and this article about why autonomous weapons could be useful) and this older thread about AI could be handy.

I'd recommend starting this by defining exactly what kind of 'robot threat' it is that we'll be talking about.

Actually the robot threat is a hacker, like the jkawig said,or even robots can have a bad thinking system then they kill us

Simple answer:
AI carries out tasks. Basically like jkawig said, if we told it to do it, it would do it. If we programmed a dangerous machine to make more machines and/or destroy mankind, sure it could. But as long as this technology is kept safe in the right hands, I don't see what all the drama is about.
Glimpsed
AI is just a bunch of PRE MADE algorithms that allow the robot to make decisions that may seem like it has true AI now if some fucktard decided to make robots with algorithms that allowed them to kill innocents and so on, then yes robots have the potential.

Be more straightforward with your uplifting messages or I'll fucking skin you alive.
The only way that this could ever be plausible is if a self improving algorythm, the likes of which already exist had an error which meant that the AI didnt only change code in irder to improve itself at its desired function, allowed other things to be changed, and developing a hate for humans.

the plausibaility of this is still ridiculous because the complexity of making a robot hate and want to overrun humans is ridiculous and it is not viable that this would be coded in by pure chance (no dont you fucking dare turn this religious)

Also the likelyhood of someone thats clever enough to, code a self developing algorithm and be doing a job that needs it, being dumb enough to allow such a huge lapse in quality of coding that the AI develops itself, without the coder noticing and completely out of line with objectives is ridiculous
Don't dm me pictures of bowls that you find attractive.
lol no, this is just one of the things we are afraid of. Scientist's may say it might be true, but there's no saying that it will.
Aslong as it stays in the right hands.

yes, this is true, but things may still get hacked. No one is stopping brain damaged people such as me from hacking into the
war robot

. Why would we even make a war robot? Also, I am basing this around the best movie, Chappie. Go watch it if you want to know what i mean. Anything could happen. But I wouldn't be afraid of it, even if it would happen, not for a very long time. Technology is fast, but not that fast to make mother fuckin' killing machines.

When AI turns on us, it won't be because of coding or terrorists , it will be cause of some jack ass cyber integrated human being, playing god up in the cloud (pun intended)
need the answer be stated?

robots were made for convenience and to do tasks that humans normally can't. if humans can't disintegrate an entire speices, they can program a swarm of nanites (whatever that is) to do so, given enough time.

on another note, should robots follow isaac asimov's laws of robotics?
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.
