Yeah I would say leg grabs are a strong counter against throws, especially if he gets your base leg. Unless the opponent is near dq i usually drop the throw and post a hand on the floor.

I wanted to share a few judo techs.
First one is this amazing drop shoulder throw. i was going for a standing throw but i guess my feet slipped out but this gave the throw so much more downward force.

Next two are against a white or orange belt so i was going easy but i was trying something different. Instead of using crafty footwork to set a throw i was sort of fishing with my sweeping leg, trying to find the right angle and the right time. Im not sure if the techniques are named properly but i want to try this sort of 'fishing' technique more in the future.

Edit: To really see the beauty of the seoi nage, watch in slow motion.

i am a bird now - Lil B

Sorry for the replay dumb these are just a few of the awesome matches from the training session i had.
First and me zwift warmed up with some hip throw battles and after we started using this new training strategy:

-One player is the "thrower" the other acts as "uke".
-Uke's job is to hold all and let the thrower initiate whatever move he desires.
-Then whenever the thrower is ready (3rd or 4th turn) he gives the order for the uke to "go live" meaning that the uke will then play against the thrower.
-This allows the thrower to easily setup a technique and then practice the move while the uke is learning how to counter efficiently.

So me and zwift did that for while practicing footsweeps, leg takedowns and a lot of hip throws.
Later static jumped in and showed some simple but effective throw counters and i helped him with some leg takedowns.

I got this the other day. Not sure how inaccurate or bad it is.

I Need Replays for Gifs!
Retro: Footwork looked good but i would just say you want to continue the rotating motion by extending pecs and separating your hands so you hip throw your opponent better. i made a small edit to your replay so you see what i mean. Other than that its looking great keep trying it.

Trick: Yeah i see that one alot but i don't think we have a name for it. Strong technique but pretty simple which is not a bad thing.

I need your replays!

So i dont want the Aikido Principles to be full of mine and iver's replays so im asking you guys to submit yours and help me out. Keep in mind these replays are being converted to gifs so they cant be too long. If a lot of you submit for the same replay im going to choose the one that shows what im looking for the most. In the gif only your skin will be shown not your opponent's and your names will be added as contributors. I'm looking for the following.

Momentum:
1 Save Replay of you stopping yourself from a near dq. (replay will loop immediately after the save, dq will not be shown.)
1 Counter Replay of you flipping your opponent's momentous attack and dqing him. example.
1 Driving Replay of you progressing your initial attack with more force. (Kind of like running your opponent out of bounds). example.

Damage:
I'm using Static's clinch kicking replay.
1 Combo Replay of you landing multiple strikes on your opponent (punches, knees, kicks, anything!). Multiple fractures would look nice and dismembering is not required.
1 Tactical Fracturing replay of you fracing your opponent (through grappling or striking) and forcing him to dq on that limb. example.

Timing:
Premeditation is achieved by focusing on your opponent's ghost, predict his next movement, and set up your attack or defense accordingly.

1 Premeditation Replay that shows a strong sense of knowing how you're opponent will move. This one will probably be difficult.
