Nah.

M0n played very well. Had my kick missed, his win was deserved.

Ok. I have a question. I lost 300k in duels with a guy.
How to properly counter this move.
Contract knees and glutes in first turn. How to counter it?
Anyway the guy sucked. We were both doing the same more then he was running because he always got a bit more points....
I'll post some replays to some variations of the move in second turn and how to counter it.

do it too, i do it usually in duels cause it's the safest thing

you were playing rk-mma right?
Your messed up world enthrills me
i,too, usually counter that with a similar move, trying to attack the sides of oponents legs.
first turn hold all, contract knees(dont contract glutes)
second turn rotate chest(left or right),extend pecs, raise (left or right) shoulder, contract (l or r) hip, extend that knee, extend other hip.
Often this move pushes the oponent to the side, scrweing up his attack a little and leaving him in a bad position and also score some good points.
Its not 100% failproof ofcourse but quite reliable.
yeah, though insanity, we both know a little bit of points is easily won back in rk-mma..maybe it was just a bad day ;o

kane's suggestion seems good though

1st replay (counter.rpl):

obviously not the best general opener, but if you know they're going to hold all/contract knees etc then this move is enough to deter them from doing it in the duels that follow

2nd replay (FoL counter.rpl):

a good general offensive opener originally used by fistoflife. pretty much the best counter possible imo

it could also work well as a defensive opener theoretically but it's more inconsistent than just kicking (like in the replay)

it's important to raise the rear hand because it keeps you closer to the ground and angles the kick just the right way. try messing around with it to see what u can do with it

also, if you find yourself unprepared for the contracted knees opener, these should be your priorities:

1. don't get pushed out or lifted (stay on the ground)
2. point mitigation

in that order.

edit: side note, i have perfected the stabjutsu superman opener. apologies for the file name
