on the topic of musical instruments; in personal experience a brass instrument harder to pick up/ learn than something like the guitar, because trumpets, saxophones or whatever all seem to look pretty damn similar on a glance from the outside (like a guitar and a ukulele)and I am damn puzzled on how much skill you need to play them. for example on the buttons(?) do you have to have to have to exert a very specific amount of pressure to get the note, or breathe just the right amount.
if someone knows from experience, I'd like to hear it, cheers.

here's one of the only real deerhunter songs that I can get a tab from and play, it's pretty neat and one of my favourite songs from bradford cox.

When you've been listening to metal for long enough you start to think its weird to see people in checked shirts doing guttural.
or at least me, tend to expect for a heavy look to match the music.
but meh, metalcore look alikes are always like this..

Favorite genre of music: Tough… To listen to, or to play? I really like late Baroque, Classical, and Romantic era classical music. I don't always play all of the above, but that's typically what I end up coming across that interests me. Oooh! I also learn a lot of songs from anime OSTs (Honorable mentions being Symposium Magarum from Puella Magi Madoka Magica and like every song from Katawa Shoujo). As for listening... Usually, I listen to a lot of chill, dubstep, lovetrap, and house. (Classical, Chill, Chillstep, Lovetrap, House)

Least favorite genre of music: I don’t really think I have a least favourite genre.. I have genres I really like, and then everything else kinda falls to roughly the same spot. I guess some of that experimental stuff with little musicality. I was once shown a video of a concert where everyone was kinda... screeching? There wasn't anything else going on besides some sketchy instruments being played at static notes and some sort of screaming. Points for creativity but I’m not really into white noise.

Favorite music artist: EDEN is breathtaking, Oh Wonder is a really solid group… I’ve only heard a couple tracks of Stephen’s but he seems really promising. XYLO also is a new favourite of mine. Villa-Lobos is awesome and I really love his unique sort of sound, not to mention he wrote a lot of stuff specifically for the guitar (versus music being transcribed from the piano or violin), which is an instrument I love to listen to (and play) so if I find a piece of his on guitar it’s more likely to feel a lot more natural. Chopin is also really fantastic. Tarrega also put out a ton of good stuff… Should I stop now?

Least favorite music artist: K0HTA. His mixtape was absolutely abhorrent.

Favorite music sharing website: If I want to share something I've played I'll usually record quickly on vocaroo although I'm quite shy with sharing online so that doesn't happen often Uhm… I’m subscribed to a lot of promoters on youtube, and I usually check there. If I grow really attached to an artist I’ll find them on soundcloud and check out all of their stuff.

One example of your favorite music: Sorry I couldn’t give just 1 T~T

Examples

Oh, and I play the classical (spanish) guitar. I made a lot of references to playing and forgot to mention what exactly I play. I'm kinda looking for a place where I can feel comfortable sharing, and this seems perfect.

For the post above mine: That song was pretty groovy, is the word I'm looking for? It was refreshing to listen to, as it was pretty different from what I usually frequent.

I don't really like pop vocals in metal. Opera and cabaret singing can be great, though.

I prefer it. I think it gives a song more... progression? It makes it a lot more dynamic by contrasting the ebb and flow of the whole thing. Or, at least, in my opinion. Screaming throughout an entire song gets tiring to listen to...

Offff couurssseeee I don't really listen to metal, so my opinion means less than some filthy casual.

Speaking of vocals...

@dank, since I understand that you and I have potentially similar music tastes e.g arctic monkeys, strokes, gorillaz; I'll give you a little list of bands you may like.
radiohead: one of the most consistent music artists I know of, it may take a while to like them since at first I really disliked them. however, not for everyone, but, the album 'the bends' may be the best one for your liking.
blur: damon albarn's (gorillaz) first group, most of their work is britpop which I don't entirely like, but, the albums blur and 13 are alternative rock and experimental and the most gorillaz sounding.
deerhunter: sometimes funky, sometimes sad, sometimes noisy, sometimes weird.

I may have a few more I can recommend you, if you want them just ask. ps. your signature is wrong

@lazors, that song escalated pretty damn quickly. I appreciate the mixture of sounds and instruments, but, as usual the heavy sound doesn't do it for me.

modest mouse do have a very particular sound about them, and the vocalist's voice is very dislikable, but, also likeable at the same time. heath ledger also directed this music video too

On the other hand, there's a few band who mix growling with opera and cabaret, which is surprisingly nice.

Heh, so I guess I like it for the same reason you don't. Anyways.. I'd actually be really interested in checking those other bands out, if you don't mind. That sounds really interesting.

You're right, they have a pretty unique sound. It's some blend between country, indie, and whatever else and I think I like it. I didn't really have a problem with his vocals either.

That video got pretty crazy pretty fast though lmao

it's gonna take a while to check all those out but whatever i guess i will
i know my signature isn't what they sung in the lyrics but i just liked the sound of post-mix lemonade

didn't really like blur but deerhunter and radiohead are pretty cool
also for the guys that like electro stuffs check this out, this is one of the few electric music i like
