Gamemasters are recruiting!

The GameMasters are back again, we are once more looking for a wave of trial GMs to step up and become the smiling face of the Toribash staff

What do GameMasters do?

The primary function of the GameMaster team is to keep the Toribash community entertained. This is done in a variety of ways, most commonly we host in game events such as GMTourneys, GMVictories and GMHotseats. We also regularly host larger scale forum events, for example The Haunted Gauntlet to keep Toribash fresh and exciting.

What does it take to be a GM?

The most important qualities in a GM, which we will be looking for, are enthusiasm, creativity and activity. We are constantly in need of new types of events and competitions to keep the game dynamic and exciting rather than monotonous. The most creative people, the ones who can consistently provide interesting things to present to the community are the ones we want to have on the team. At the same time a level of maturity and reliability is needed, as GMs do have power, we need to be able to trust the people we recruit.

Why be a GameMaster?

Being a GM is one of the most effective ways of benefiting the community, all of us want to see the Toribash community grow and you can play a part in that process simply by doing your job. In hand with this, it is one of the most fun ways you can help the community and as a GM you can have a great sense of satisfaction seeing your performance having a direct influence on how much other players enjoy the game.
There is also a nifty reward system for GMs who are doing well

How do I apply?

Simple! Send a free form application to Erth.
Include your GMT and any languages you are fluent in.
You may also want to use Dargon's tutorial for applying to a staff position.

You have 2 weeks from the date this is posted to send in your applications, then discussion will take an indefinite period of time after that. We don't have a limit on the amount of gamemasters we're looking for either!

Don't post "I applied" or "Good luck guys!" in this thread. Also esports. We don't want any esports you're selling. Feel free to ask us any questions if you need more information. Good luck chaps!

ppssssssssssttttttttt, we're also always looking for more artists and mod makers to help out! They get access to the reward too!

Yeah, I only don't like erthtkv2 because of the mod's name. Make it "tkv2," and the mod will instantly become more popular. This is a valid reason as the name of the mod is still an important feature that no one seems to have yet discussed.

3. Is there a max number of gm's there can be at one time?

2.I would suggest reading Dargon's Thread about it. It helped me a lot.

It worked for me.

I was asking why they dont tell you if you are rejected..

Mostly just for convenience. There are so many applicants that compiling a list of applicants to send a mass rejection notice wouldn't be a productive use of their time. It's just a lot easier if they message the ones that did make the cut.
I've currently received over 70 applications in just over 48 hours. It's infinitely easier to just say who was accepted than to reply to every single one of those applications.
People just need to be patient and keep an eye out once the 2 week period is over.
If you are particularly interested in knowing why you weren't accepted after the results have been released, then feel free to query me on the irc and I'll do my best to summarise. I won't spend ages helping/explaining to you about it but I don't mind giving you a wee hand if you're particularly interested.

Can i ask you a question about maturity?
lets say a small aged player(from 12 to 14) applied for The Position with a good app , and suddenly you thought that he is not up for it because his maturity . what if he was up to the job and still not mature (because he is still small) , would you accept him? or it depends?

Rejuvenation is the way.
well my question was about a good small aged player but with no maturity.
would he still get the job?

Well part of the GM's job is to deal with situations and calmly make the right decisions, so being mature enough to not get mad/influenced is a big part of it. Being good in game isn't a part of being GM at all necessarily, I mean look at Wizard, he sucks ;).

I only can assume your belt or infractions (minor and/or expired) would affect your chances of becoming a trial GM, right?

well i didn't mean to say a small aged player with no maturity , i meant that the staff might think he is immature because his age ,and turns out that he can do it as you said above , they would add him to the job right? after all trial is a test for a player and they can know that he is mature-ish right ?

Right, age doesn't adversely affect your chances unless you're literally 9.

No, neither of those affect your chances, however major infractions might depending on their nature.
