But here is the thing : you could escalate the violence and try to kill as many as you can, some people will get caught in the fight and die, someone's brother, sister, daughter, parents... and then hate continues, people lose everything and turn to extremism because no one gave them any other choice. You can "erradicate" all extremists, new ones will surface, maybe even worst ones. You can't kill an idea with rockets and bombs, they can't do it, and we can't do it.

Those extremists didn't spawn out of nowhere, they're the natural reaction to what neo-capitalism and western imperialism inflicted to that region of the world. It's all about causes and consequences, the cause of extremism (ANY KIND of extremism) is War and fear, so how "more war" could fix what it created in the first place ?

I learned in grade school, the only way to get a bully to stop , isn't telling him to stop or tell higher authorities, you bring the game to his field and you don't stop. Just as bad the bully, no way. Better than Or we can just roll on our backs and talk it out. ISIS, demands things through violence. We should return the favor 7 fold. They're through talking, we should be too. If we want peace prepare or War.

Also it is pretty bad when the west gets bombed, were 1st World Country sorta abov all this savagery and deaths for beliefs. Then one day, dudes decide to change The NY cityscape forever. Were all equal as people, I just don't think our countries are equal. I'll argue that Canada hands down is the best place on the planet bias aside for bing born here.

This is sick that people like you really believe that the WEST is better than any 3rd world countries. The west is the most evil place on earth. It has successfully (looking at this thread) managed to enslave everyone's minds into thinking exactly what the media tells you.

Did we all of a sudden forget that America killed over 1,000 people in 9/11 just to get towards there agenda?

If America didn't provoke eastern countries we wouldn't be having this situation we are in now. Please think for yourself people rather than projecting what the media told you.

^ David "Reptilian people" Icke? C'mon.

I believe the attack was meant to achieve several things. First, to retaliate for France's earlier airstrikes in Syria. Second, to sow more mistrust and hostility toward Muslims in France (and West in general), as feelings of alienation and animosity will push more Muslims toward radicalism, driving up ISIS recruitment and damaging the unity of Western nations. Third but not least, to provoke Western nations to send ground troops into Syria so as to fulfill Hadith end-times prophecy of Muslim armies defeating "the Romans" (West, according to ISIS interpretation) on the plains of Dabiq, which is in Syria.

France or other Western countries should not send their troops in. Continue to use drones & jets to take out ISIS operatives as well as arming/training/supplying regional opposition groups, like Kurdish YPG.
I mean, France has been the biggest pussies lately, and finally grew a pair and started bombing isis, which is a smart move on their part. But countries need to stop letting in Immigrants from Syria, and the war-torn middle eastern countries. With stuff like that happening bombings and stuff will be sprouting about pretty frequently.

But has France had a reason to get involved with anything really, till now?

Well, that's accepting them into their boarders, which was god damn stupid. But I mean, has there been any reasons to go and fucking launch missles?

@TheDog

It's easy to fall into such theories because it simplifies a situation that is originally complicated, and have been for decades.

the "western alliance" have been occupying that region and exploiting its ressources for decades, wars and terrorism/insurgency are the products of that foreign policy, not the other way around. Just like Irak, Westerners just need to claim they're going to fight a merciless dictator and bring some freedom, terrorism is a bonus consequence, it scares random people who aren't in war zones, giving more legitimacy to the conflicts in middle-east to the eyes of the voters, and that's where everything is played. No one wants their country to be at war unless it's for a "good cause".

It's not manipulation of the mass by evil governments, you'd be surprised how short sighted governments really are, they're opportunists : they just take advantage of what that complicated situation can offer them.

@Nagato

"To wether it will escalate to a world war, we are not certain. With the alliances of the EU, one country will definitely help another. ISIS has one thing that we don't: the power to kill the innocent for no cost.

Killing the innocent in our realm is considered morbid and a war crime, but ISIS things the opposite of this."

Do you really think no innocent got killed by the USA/EU during all those years they've been involved in conflicts in the middle east ? Why do you think people turn to extremism in the first place ?

Luckily, my state here in the U.S., Ohio, has declined taking in any Refugees.
