First off that was a very nice throw, well done sir.

The armbar's primary objective is to lock up the opponent's upper body and thus limiting their mobility. Once it is locked in, its almost impossible for them to escape that position unless the initiator lets go.
The secondary benefits are as you said are damaging and potentially breaking their arm and shoulder joints.

Once the armbar is locked in (not easy to do) i see 3 options:
Option 1) If possible pick the ankle or leg of the opponent to stretch them out and force them to collapse and DQ.
Option 2) If the leg pick is not in range then raise your posting shoulder to lift opponent off of the floor and sweep them into DQ or out of bounds.
Option 3) If neither option is available you must tactically play and balance on your posting arm until one of the opportunities becomes available. This is takes practice but results in the best looking replays when you're successful.

This is just a bonus but i achieved an armbar from a top position instead of the traditionally flying approach.

ok, so I've been messing around with scissor sweeps lately, and landed a couple. My top control on the last replay was decent.

I was too lazy to rename these ones, sorry :3

Niceee job zwift! You're actually the first person i've seen to really get the scissor sweep so well.

Start off with my usually open and i notice right i away my opponent is throwing a snap kick.
So i put in play my kick shield or 'thai kick check' by lowering my free arm and keeping my blocking knee contracted and forcing it head on into the kick.
When my opponent's kick strikes it deflects off with scoring a mere 10k damage and 8k on himself.
My lowered hand chases the leg and catches it right below the hip.
I raise both shoulders not to lift but to give more space from the floor in the next turn.
I lower both shoulders and my base drops very low and wide. I finished by extending his ass to the floor.

Nice one darkexxod, try using your other leg thats not on the ground as a lever instead of keeping it on the ground. It lifts your opponent up more I guess. I have a couple hip throw replays that show me using my other leg as a lever. Examine them closely!
