First off that was a very nice throw, well done sir.
The armbar's primary objective is to lock up the opponent's upper body and thus limiting their mobility. Once it is locked in, its almost impossible for them to escape that position unless the initiator lets go.
The secondary benefits are as you said are damaging and potentially breaking their arm and shoulder joints.
Once the armbar is locked in (not easy to do) i see 3 options:
Option 1) If possible pick the ankle or leg of the opponent to stretch them out and force them to collapse and DQ.
Option 2) If the leg pick is not in range then raise your posting shoulder to lift opponent off of the floor and sweep them into DQ or out of bounds.
Option 3) If neither option is available you must tactically play and balance on your posting arm until one of the opportunities becomes available. This is takes practice but results in the best looking replays when you're successful.
This is just a bonus but i achieved an
armbar from a top position instead of the traditionally flying approach.
