You don't have to implement every change that the people suggest, but you can get an idea of their general concerns and of what they like about the proposal. I was shut down by Gynx at the time because he strongly felt that this consultation process should be conducted after it's already been implemented - like a beta stage. I think that's short-sighted though, since there's absolutely no harm done in getting the community's opinion on it while it's still a draft. In addition, the more that someone is involved in developing a project, the more satisfaction they'll feel with the end results. Discussing the drafts of big community projects with the community can only be a beneficial thing if handled properly.

I certainly understand where youre coming from, and the analogy yoube used is a good one, the differmece between the 2 scenarios however is that going to the town hall in itself provides a barrier, so you have to be genuinely interested to give an input. Perhaps contacting people who have shown an interest in the topic to find their opinion would be a good move. But if that was done it would have to be done privately and secretely so people didnt get offended that the were not contacted, as they were interested too.

It helped them a lot, especially for the steam integration, maybe something along those lines could be done for the development of a matchmaking system you'd explain beforehand. But then again, it's just a thought ^^

This would certainly be very cool, unfortunately this isdefinitely a hampa decision and not something the GM team can have any bearing on

Yeah I thought so, but you guys should bring it up in your secret GM forum or something. I guess you have a way to adress it up there ^^

Perhaps in the future, but we would have to write up a syetem for how it would work, and even then it would take a long time for it to be inplemented. Its probably better for you guys if we try our best to make a system that works with the tools we can use at the moment.

The tools available are fine, and the implementation is okay'ish. Although, a few things could be enhanced, but I don't see them as radically fixing anything.

The main problem is with the activity in Toribash. It's a major issue, since ideally you want to create as much elo tier rooms as possible.

Matchmaking could solve everything if you encourage people to fix it. But, SmallBowl is right, GMs can only work with the tool in their hands. So, ideally, I think the GMs should be the ones releasing a report of the aftermath of this system implementation.
Your messed up world enthrills me

I strongly disagree here, the current rank system, although it needs a lot of optimisation is better than the old system. The big difference is simply that farming isnt as easy because you cant just make a private room and win a huge number of games against white belts

The system is designed to differentiate between players by skill level. This system is better at that than the old system.

also the mods chosen for the ranked servers are too few,
how can you measure a player's skill just from those mods?

i think the best solution would be in between the old and and new system,
reintroduce the belt servers/ranks and mod ranks, your global rank should be
based on the mod ranks, the more ranks you have in multiple mods,
the higher you get in global rank

It doesnt. You dont play ranked dont expect to get a good rank. Pretty much all good systems work like this too, dont expect to have a good ranking in league or DoTA by playing unranked games.

Its not logical to be ranked from that few games, thats why your rank is not accurate or representative of your level.

There are a lot of random, silly mods in toribash making all mods ranked would be a bad move. There are even mods where one of the players has a clear advantage.

Your suggestion involves making joustingfixed.tbm a ranked mod

With this system, I'm almost scared to play vs low rank players because when u lose to them, you're fcked.

The thing is that when I'm rank 200 i still have the same elo as when am rank 2000, and that's dumb :/

Thats because of the size of the player base, the fact is that your Elo was similar so the result was not predictable

A big reason why many people have similar Elo is the length of season, not enough time for peoples rank to settle

I agree entirely, thats one of the first changes that was drafted in the patch notes just over 2 months ago. The problem comes in trying to get things approved and implemented really
