Let's build a PC for Juha!
With Dark Souls III looming in the horizon and recent releases of high-end games lately, I have constantly been hitting a certain problem

My computer have become obsolete for gaming

Instead of buying complete computer this time around, I decided to dip my hand at the magic of building your own PC but i'm completely clueless about the inner workings of computers, so I need a lot of help!

The computer will be mainly focused on gaming, however it doesn't have to run every single game in max graphics, as long as the games run well.

Notable things:

Budget : around 500$-700$ (it can go slightly over if must)
Peripherals : only thing I really need is a suitable monitor (doesn't have to be included in the initial budget, but would be preferred)
USB slots! : i'm sucker at buying items with USB connectors, so I need multiple USB slots in the tower
Longevity : while I know that individual components can be upgraded periodically, I rather not do it once in every month
Shipping : site where I can order all of the parts all the way to the finland

If you guys have any further questions you would like to know, ask away and I try to answer as well as I can.

Kyure brought up a new rule based on the posts in this thread, thats why he posted it in here. If you feel like this rule isn't of any use or anything, pm him and I'm sure you both can come into an agreement.
Thanks for the comprehension :D
Ok the usual crowd, Immortal, Kyure, Mongius. Good to be back at this :D

Always fun helping people with their first builds.

Juha I used to be that guy who made his thread on building his first PC :) You can ask Immortal for a link.

Anyways I wanna start with my take and advice for you Juha BUT I wanna go one by one as that always made it easier when Immortal was teaching me.

I want us to start talking about the GPU. Now while it's your first time building I think you already know what all the parts do right? I didn't lol.

Let me swerve off for a sec and recommend you use PCPartpicker to help out everyone here.

Now back to the GPU. If your not gonna be doing any heavy gaming, I highly recommend the EVGA GTX 750 Ti. Look it up and tell me what you think about it and/or leave any questions.

/offtopic good formatting usually helps these things so type first format later when your done with the whole post. It's easier like that IMO.

Looking forward to continuing this conversation.

@Flux USB Hubs could be unreliable if you are plugging 10 devices into one tower port. Also 750 Ti is better than 750.
@suo Pretty much what I was gonna say. No need for an i5 IMO. An i3 will do and as some people here have already said, it will extend your budget for a GPU like a GTX 970 or a Kyure Approved Radeon 390.
@ImmortalPig I agree. Probably because you helped me pick that CPU in the first place.

Why 950 though? A 950 is pretty close to a 750 Ti. Why not i3+970/390?

He could also just get a 750 Ti+i3 depending on what he'll be playing. We could be suggesting 970s to a guy who wants to play Minecraft and LoL.

Is the current top priority that I will be playing for coming hundreds of hours, and I am also planning to start playing Arma 3 and other graphically demanding games.

As long as the fps keeps constant, I do not care about the drop in frames so I would rather go with i5
