About 2 weeks ago i could run toribash on max no issue with raytracing now i try to run it and it lags very bad i have not changed setting or screen resolution
i thought it was clutter on my machine but it wasn't i don't have a virus or malware and my version is the same (4.8 ) and (5.0)

Hmm I use both, I just find it odd that it worked for a long time, then all of a sudden it doesn't.

No but i used to use it with like 5 things up and it ran fine including a few google chrome windows.

Alright I will try that when I hop ingame, also my pc is an Intel core i7 4960X Octa core
and my gpu is Nvidia GeForce gtx 970 ti with 5 gb of gddr 5 onboard,,
and 16 gigs of ram installed.

2 things of note:

1. Nvidia Optimus etc, make sure it's actually using the GeForce and not offsetting GL to the shitter in the Intel (which it will do by default)

2. Recent Nvidia drivers have been pretty wank & GL is somewhat busted on them
