Great knee tap with the hip action.

That's more of a hip throw than osoto gari. You didn't hook the leg and besides he was already in air when you made contact. Try hooking a leg that is in contact with the floor and sweep it away, this would knock them on their ass.

ouchi gari looks great! This shows it as an opening move. I might add this replay to the technique library.

Interesting take on the overturn, i would call it a half throw with a leg grab but u still show the mechanics. usually i drive forward but this can work as well.

Good SS from half roux.

You know what to do. Try the osoto gari again for me.

isnt an o soto gari kinda like a hip throw but instead ur heel (doing a sort of kicking back motion) causes most of the turnover action from kicking the back of their leg closest to u?

Sort of. You're hooking their leg on the outside and sweeping it back, this causes them to be unbalanced and you force them down with your arms.
Its not really a throw so you dont need to lift them at any point. But you still can if it helps.

osoto gari

You don't need to hook the leg to do osoto gari. I've hit this move in real matches before, so I know what I'm talking about. If you watched the gif you posted, you'll see that he doesn't hook, he simply sweeps the leg upwards. I don't know why you are stressing hooking the leg so much, because that's not how it's done irl.

Please point out where the leg is hooked.

OH WAIT!!! THERE IS NO HOOK!!!
If you translate osoto gari to layman terms you get "large outer reaping," not "large outer hook."
You don't need to hook the leg, lol.

I don't give a flyin' fladoodle
Its not the hook im looking for. you're still hitting hip throws.

I disagree. My original osoto gari was perfect, how was it a hip throw? You didn't give me any other reason for it being a hip throw other than calling it a hip throw. You also said didn't accept it for me not hooking the leg, but now you say you're not looking for the hook. Doesn't make sense.

i just watched the replay and the reason its a hip throw is that you're using ur hip as a kind of seesaw (no other way i can explain it) rather than sweeping it. That and the fact you're turning/lifting him over your body rather than flipping him directly in front of you using ur leg to knock him backwards.
its a hip throw, get over it and hit the drawing board.
