Reaching an all time low
This communities threads are completely dead recently and i want to know everyone's positions on the step fall recently
Gonna give this some air in Discussion, but if the contributions end up being bad then I'll just move this over to Off-Topic.

I didn't make this thread to ask why the community is falling. I just wanted to know what people think of the community's fall.

I guess I should've made that clear.

I think that the game is reaching its final days but, there will always be some people that've been here since the olden days that only stay around for the sentimental values.

I'm starting to lose interest in this game for the first time and I just cant leave the game for some reason.

Lightweight - Why did you even post here? did you receive an infraction for that shit post?

Mallymkun - Yeah.. its sad.

IIInsanEEE - Uhh, what? I dont even understand your post. First, you say its people like me that're killing this community. Then, you talk about people that're "Why the community is falling". I appreciate your reply though.

As of this month or so, a lot of people have been going back to school and are rightly devoting more time to it. It's normal for any game to drop in players around these months and they will rise again steadily.

Now if you mean like in general, yes the community has gone down drastically since its high point what it needs is a reboot like a youtube commercial or something or pay a larger youtuber to play the game and talk it up to make more players join. If a Youtube personality like Jacksepticeye were to make 1 episode on it the player count would sky rocket.

Also in discussion people just want to talk shit instead of having a proper discussion, they think it's all about winning and force feeding their opinion to others. You end up with shitters arguing asinine and irrelevant points just so they can feel "right".

I more or less agree here. It's always seemed a little ironic to me that you will get infracted for not staying staying on topic in the offtopic board. Typically I just cba to post there because of the standards

the whole point by point thing in discussion is real double edged sword. it's efficient for dissecting arguments with someone, but you also get what small and pig have been doing the last couple days, arguing whether or not Turkey is a western country for whatever reason. it's easy to get distracted and argue, like pig said, totally asinine and irrelevant points.

although you aren't the best carrier of this message, i think you enjoy trolling in discussion more than anyone else ;p

I thought this was a problem too. So I made a suggestion thread aimed at increasing transparency about this and my suggestion was actually approved. So now, every time a thread gets given priority by devs, or becomes implemented, the thread title gets tagged. This makes it easy to track whether any ideas are getting put into effect. It's only been a few months since then, but so far no other ideas have been implemented (or someone forgot to update the thread titles with the [Implemented] tag).

I don't have any way of tracking implemented suggestions before the new tag system. You'd have to read through hundreds of threads to figure it out.

Discussion definitely doesn't suffer from this. I engage a laissez-faire approach to modding Discussion and my current modding partner isn't active enough to overmoderate.

On the cancer users thing... That's mostly bullshit now. There's maybe 2 or 3 members that act nasty here, everyone else is able to participate in discussions without shit turning hostile. You don't frequent the board though, so you wouldn't know.

Discussion has an outdated bad rep in this community. Sure, there's a shitfest every now and again but it's not nearly as common as it used to be. I think if everybody cast aside their outdated prejudices and gave Discussion another shot they'd find it's not nearly as cancererous as they thought. The more people that do this, the less proportionally cancerous the board would be.

it's very arguable whether that's the case right now. Kinda seems like a lot of people have become inside jokes and current posting revolves around what Lazors referred to as internet jargon. A good chunk of it is kinda lame and passive aggressive.

TP is supposed to be paid wibbles though, so slightly more stringent standards on flaming might work to keep any other board from degenerating into that?

I think you realise that this argument makes no sense though.

Don't really agree here. There are situations where not serious stuff is just distracting clutter and an obvious eyesore.

Letting people tag their own threads shouldn't be an issue though. Slightly more stringent posting standards for threads personally tagged a different way isn't harmful, and filters discussion to where it's useful and helpful to OP.

there's a bit of a blurred line there imo. If it's meaningless to the point of being spam I think we can agree that's probably undesirable, and constantly repeated short posts is probably undesirable too

For the record, every bit of your post that I haven't quoted, I agree with.

Yeah, the tagging of serious threads is a good idea if you're concerned with overmoderation, Pig. In Toriprime, the idea came about from the opposite way - people were concerned that everybody was shitting on everybody else too much and all threads would inevitably descend to crap. Some people were angry that they could never have a decent, serious thread there.

I suggested that the community (since it's a premium board) should be able to select the level of moderation they want in their thread. Every thread is assumed to be unmoderated UNLESS the OP tags it as [Serious].

I modded the board and it worked fine for ages until an over-zealous ninja closed a thread that wasn't tagged. I reopened it, wrote 'bawww' or something and was promptly fired. I haven't had TP for a while now (I'll have it back once Parrot wins CL) so I can't comment on the state of it, but the idea of users tagging threads that they want someone to moderate is still a good idea I reckon'.
Well, shit really hit the fan here.

I'm closing this in like an hour so can someone please TLR this for me? I'm not spending any time on that discussion.
