TBH, the hip throw tutorial is just a tutorial on how to throw uke in sp. Doing a hip throw in mp is not as easy as setting your feet on the second turn. Picking up both of your feet off the ground in mp is a sure way to get lifted/shoveled. We need to update the hip throw tutorial.

This is something i should probably cover in principles of aikido.
But i always relax-wrists for any move unless it will help me finish/dq the opponent.

Ever since i started following this rule those random wrist dm's are far less frequent.

Um, k. So you can do a hip throw in MP. What's your point?
Most of those you used much different footwork than in your tutorial. Your tutorial teaches how to do a hip throw against a non-resisting opponent. How many times is someone just going to stand there in MP? The tutorial should be focused on teaching how to set up the throw against a resisting opponent and knowing when to attempt it.
You've said it yourself before,

So why would we have a tutorial based on one replay of you throwing uke around an aikido dojo?

An example of a better tutorial would be iver's snap kick uchi mata tutorial, because it teaches you how to take a move like uchi mata and put it to practical use.

Before I get into this I will say that if u wan't to right a tutorial of your own you may do so.

Now first i want to point out that many, not most, of the replays i linked do actually use the same sequence as the the tutorial. I know this bc to this day i use that sequence from my movememory script.

Also about throwing uke, you're right theres nothing cool about it, not for a video. But its practical to throw uke for the same reason you throw around that lifeless bag of sand in your bedroom. Learning advanced moves like the hip throw require baby steps.
First you learn the sequence against uke, then you practice against a scripted uke, and once you have the move memorized in your fingertips you go into qa and drill it against live opponents. This is how i develop every single technique that i use.
I should add something about this to principles as well.

Finally about the sequence itself. My tutorial says at the beginning that it is mostly trying to teach the hip throw "formula". I know it's not the most high percentage hip throw sequence especially as an opener. (But i have had tremendous success with it).
But this formula that the tutorial teaches works all around the dojo. I have used it not only as an opener but also as a lift counter, or chained after a footsweep, and other instances i can't think of right now.

Mikehoy that was a good start, now try turning on opener bot in utilities. Try mixing how you set the throw.
