Hey, could you recommend me stuff
Oi.
I have a small problem, I'm out of anime to watch and I was thinking someone here could help me.
I don't consider myself a anime expert so I'm looking for help from you guys.
I like mature anime that relies on complex characters and a good story to tell.
I can't bring myself to watch a single bit of fan service (Which I find more and more prevalent in new anime)
I don't mind some shounen elements but the genre isn't something I particularly enjoy.
Anime I enjoyed immensely and similar to which I'm looking include
Cowboy Bebop
Monster
Kids on the slope (Sakamichi no apollon)
Berserk
Trigun
Ghost in the shell
I hope the people here who have more knowledge about anime can help me.

I watched a few episodes of Texhnolyze and it felt a bit overwhelming and bleak from the first few episodes.
Paranoia Agent is a new one for me. thanks for the hint! I'll be sure to check it out.
Mind fuck isn't necessarily something I'm massively into, I don't mind complex plots and twists by any means.
But if I'd have to choose 3 favorite anime of all time they would be Cowboy Bebop, Kids on the slope and Monster which are pretty non-mindfuck anime.
I enjoy atmosphere over anything else. A kind of specific feeling you get from those shows previously mentioned.
Certainly shows like ergo-proxy or Texhnolyze with their bleak themes have a certain feel to them, but general depression isn't my go-to atmosphere.
