after shinji starts the third impact and everyone's consciousness melds into one another shinji offers everyone a choice, stay inside whats basically a heaven or come back to reality. when shinji's laying there in the dead world hes there for an indeterminate amount of time, alone. when asuka comes back hes probably mad with the guilt of ending the world and angry that everyone decided to stay inside heaven, as well as unhinged from days or weeks without any human interaction. its theorized that he started choking asuka to test if he was still dreaming or if he was in reality, cuz if he was dreaming asuka wouldn't react but if it were real she'd probably try to fend him off. her showing affection to him probably threw him off completely, its actually shinji calling himself pathetic, not asuka.

where i live alot of parents think anime is only for kids so they don't check what their kids are watching
and most people just don't give a fuck. i mean we were allowed to watch movies such as stay alive,child's play and predator when we were kids

That's really weird to me, but I guess it shouldn't be that strange since I watched all that stuff as a kid anyway and look I turned out FANTASTIC

I mean it's not like didney movies didn't have traumatizing moments either, though probably still far more child friendly than a dude wanking to his comatose friend. But then there was the miracle that is danish cartoons, which can get fucking weird because Denmark apparently has a boner for media with a bleak atmosphere. :V
