Clan League 2018

It's finally here! sorry! Gather your clan mates, wake up the inactive and get ready for Clan League 2018!
Time is now for your clan to rise up and usurp the belt from Alpha.
Will the conquest of Alpha be over? Or will they reign victorious for another year?

Rules for participation are as follows:

•Anyone found to be in multiple rosters on alternate accounts will be punished. This includes being in several accounts in one roster
•Failure to organise matches will result in disqualification for both clans, unless one clan has been shown to be making more effort.*
•Reporting match scores should include the score clearly, a list of participants and all replays.

*Not including group phase*

This year we're doing a dual phase tournament, this means a group stage and a final stage.

Within your groups you will do a round robin, fighting each clan twice.
The top two clans per group will advance to the final stage, except for the two clans with the least points.
This brings 27 clans down to 16 for the final knockout stage.
The final stage will be a standard single elimination, with a reverse gradient seed (eg starting with 1st vs 16th, 2nd vs 15th, 3rd vs 14th and so on.)

The rules for the quarter finals phase are as follows:
  • A single player can play no more than 3 different modes.
  • A single player can play no more than 5 matches in total.
  • A single player can play no more than 3 matches per mod.
  • Deadline for the quarter finals will be October 7th.
  • 5 Different modes, 5 matches each round, best of 25 (or first to 13).

Modes:

Lenshu3ng.tbm
Taekkyon.tbm
judofrac.tbm
aikidobigdojo.tbm
boxshu_mushu_v3.tbm

Hello,

I think everyone is missing the point here. In this model, we have to fight each clan twice. We have two clans to fight. This is not a problem though. The real problem is that each player has to find 5-6 other players to fight! Sometimes only to play one match! Which is trivial. If the case was that player X of clan A will fight player Z of clan B in different mods. Then, things would be much easier. Since, you will have to meet up just twice. However, like that, it is too hard.

Hopefully. Something will be learned from this year.

Good luck.
Your messed up world enthrills me

Criticism toward myself, the event or the greater ES team is welcome here, but please don't call people names for disagreeing with you. Be civil or you will lose the opportunity to use this thread for the discussion. I'm serious, next person to do so will be met with infractions etc.

I'll acknowledge complaints properly then, but for most of you with complaints I hear you and your points are valid - thank you for feeling comfortable voicing them, as Scorp said we as ES should always be looking for constructive criticism

Sorry for the sloppiness of this post, it's probably not the post you wanted to to be - but for right this second I need to deal with my exploded washing machine

Boxshu_mushu does not fall in that category, you can simple extend both glutes and it'll allow you to jump backwards / to the side and forcing the opponent to chase you, but he won't be able to reach you for at least another 2 frames
First of all, not gonna use the lack of clans participation as an excuse (despite it made it really hard to oversee), but not tolerating insults out of this. We are here to serve.

About the format of the league, I've seen people trying to show off their experience or stats about the past: I have been part of event organization groups for way larger than most people here and believe me that the Clan League format has changed several times, being live or during its organization. Every now and then some changes were introduced, and this was another change. Some times they are succesful, some times they aren't that good, but we do learn from every experience.

Despite it's neko the one hosting it, me and Reta are the leaders and we approved the event. Neko is doing a really good job with this, and if you want to raise a complaint, come to the leaders.

Won't be quoting and answering every single message over here, since it'd be a mess and wont be productive. We do read them all and discuss relevant points in private.

I will start to be more visibly involved on this event and post the brackets somewhere in the next 48 hours.

Yes, you have been involved with event hosting stuff for a long time, but you’re obviously doings something wrong with managing this team, just look at the shape of CL. Also, don’t even lie that’s neko is hosting this wrong, that’s not even in his hands as he explained earlier, but this isn’t where the leads should step in, and honestly it hasn’t taken a terribly long time for either you or reta to step in. I see you’re stepping in now which is awesome, I just wish you ES leads could communicate better with the community rather than letting this thread spew nonsense and actually give valuable responses instead of “actually x person is doing perfect in hosting this” when there are obvious flaws. I understand your point when you say sometimes things aren’t successful, but this event is completely in your hands, and the reason it’s not succeeding is because of the team’s lack of action, at least it seems that way from everyone else’s perspective.

Sorry for any typos, sending this on phone.
Also this was meant as cnc, not as an attack on the es, although it may seem so at some points.

Wizard: yeah I admit and take full responsabilities here. That's what I was doing in the last post though, and saying sorry in name of the ES for this event.

Allright.
Posting final results of the groups stage, as well as the positionings and the brackets for next round:

Group stage matches

Note that some matches weren't reported, nor given enough proof of contact attempts for making it a disqualification.
I decided to work with all the proof I had here, in neko's pms and in each clan's boards to arrive to all the conclusions. If you have any doubt respecting this, pm me.

Positionings (greyed out teams are disqualified)

Brackets

Matches will be to the best of 15, 5 fights on each of the folllowing modes:
lenshu3ng.tbm
taekkyon.tbm
aikidobigdojo.tbm

One player can play no more than 2 fights per mod.

Deadline for these matches will be September 8th.

If you have problems scheduling post it here.

Good luck and sorry for the delay!
