Let Me In.
Hi, the Americans are ruining everything again :/ (Im American, so Im allowed to bash)

If you have ever seen the move Let the Right One In, than you have seen probably the best Vampire movie of the last 20 or 30 years. Well, the guy who made Cloverfield is remaking it as "Let me in" (they shortedned the title because, get this, the original is too long)

Honestly this realy bothers me. So I figured I would post here and maybe we could get a disscussion going about it. Didnt put it in disscussion because I figured it would just get moved here anyways.

Some things to disscuss if you have never seen the original: Why in the hell can't American movie makers come up with anything original?

Here is a trailer for the remake. it looks decent, but the original was so good imo that even a really well done remake would just mess it up.

Its very good. It's in Swedish, so if you are one of those "I hates dem subtitles" folks, you might not dig it. But its a really good movie.

just got hold of the original a couple of months ago and have to say i agree with deady, it really is by far the best vampire movie that i have ever seen.
regarding the remake of it, i dont have high hopes for it, remakes of films in general have a habit failing horribly and offending fans. but well good luck to the guy, i hope it turns out well, but i doubt that he can recapture the same atmosphere as the original.

But it was also pretty heartwarming at times.

Either hollywood will make it too violent or make it a bullshit love story like Twilight.

QFT.
Hello, world.
I was reading an article and the director was saying that he plans to stay more true to the book than Swedish movie does, but also that they are using a lot more CG :/ When CG is used right, I love the things it can do. Usually, and especially with modern day horror, it ends being a flashing shite fest that looks more out of place than any of the old style special effects.
