I've suggested it in the past on a interview but never suggested it formally.

The threads of the beta releases get a bit clogged with "good job keep it up" and such posts.
The threads in the news section are even worse
Different timezones from hampa, and the fact that it's quite impractical make direct bug report on IRC difficult.
I'd expect his message box in the forum to be clogged to hell with spam.


This problem may not be the only reason why we have bugs that persist on multiple succeeding versions, but it certainly isn't making it any easier.


Maybe a strict clean-up job on the Beta Releases subforum.
Or a quite visible "Bug Report" button on the forum that issues messages directly to devs, with some moderator job to filter similar bug reports and prevent the same thing getting reported over and over again consecutively.
Maybe someone cleaning hampa's PM box.


I didn't think through a precise solution for it, this is just to stress the fact that it is needed.
