Connect device to laptop help
Hello,

I have an important video assignment to submit on monday, I've done all the filming and stuff on my phone and I want to put them into my laptop for editing. So when I connect my phone to my laptop via USB cable, all seems well, but when I open "Removable Disk (E:)", there's nothing there at all, no folders or files, just blank. Although the properties says that the memory is almost full. It's as if it's hidden or something.

I've tried rebooting my phone, laptop and even using different usb cables. Still same problem.

I tried troubleshooting and stuff and I feel it's something about device driver not found.

I haven't connected my phone to laptop for a very long time but the last time I did it it worked fine.

I'm using a samsung galaxy young duos and windows 7 laptop.

What I would like to know is how to fix it, or
an alternate method of transfering videos from my phone to laptop.

Forgive me for posting here instead of the computer subforum, but I really need some quick help.

Thanks

Might sound stupid, but the only thing I can think of is to plug in the phone and then while it's plugged in, unlock the phone to get into it (assuming it has a lock and you haven't already done that). It confused me the first time I tried to move files onto my Samsung tablet.
Thanks guys, I guess the problem is that I need a driver software, but what really puzzles me is that this used to work perfectly fine in the past, I may have accidentally deleted the software or something.

Anyways for now I managed to transfer the files via bluetooth onto a friend's computer and then using a pendrive to mine.

Though I'll need to fix this problem so I'll take a look and try out those links.

I'll leave this thread open for a bit if anyone has any more suggestions.
Thanks.

The reason it didnt work is because phones get updates and with different updates require different software tweaks to accommodate change
