Hey guys. I have begun volunteering for a program in my community called teen safe ride. It runs from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM fridays and saturdays. It gives safe rides home to teens from the community who can not get one. We branch out to the surrounding cities, but will only pick people up that are from our community and need a ride back home to our town. We don't run them, say, from one place in a neighboring city to another place within that city. The typical reasons are that they are either stoned or drunk, but sometimes they just need a safe ride home and can't get one any other way.

Some people say that by doing this we are encouraging teens to drink. As far as I'm concerned, they are going to drink anyway, whether or not we are there. We are just keeping them, and the other people on the road, safe.

So what are your thoughts on it?

I think that's a very good idea,but I don't think it encourages teens to drink. It just provideds saftey for them, and like you said, other drivers on the road.
