Malicious bot attacks have been repeatedly taking over servers as we all know. What should we do? I have only one idea that could be useful. I know that there's already Cloudfare. Captchas could be implemented as well for new site viewers (Not older accounts). Needs coding to detect join date to not annoy old users. (but having the authentication process be longer can trick out bots and hence kick them away regardless of the choice you make). You guys can probably challenge bots from being made by making multiple authentication tactics at least 3 to stop them fully. Most sites only have one authentication tactic. Adding more could be useful and keep the site running fresh. What do you think about my statement and how else could preventing bot accounts be done?

The current traffic isnt from created accounts. They are not logged in.

Then can't you stop people from accessing forums without logging in?
Make the main page a different page all together then make it forward you to the forums instead of it being hooked together in the same site. once logged in its a redirect to access forums to prevent super bot activity? That might actually be hard to do tbh, but hey I'm making the ideas up as I go based on rules and statements.
It might still crash the main page though leaving it still inaccessible, but an inactivity factor being harsher like a 25 second timer to kick them away for not logging in causing them to restart the process of taking site space.
Still though, a Captcha image system and Cloudfare together before accessing the main page would be great for the main page in the idea. Then the next authentication after logging in. This can stop them for sure.

Can there be a function to back them out to their previous page after a 25 second delay of not logging in? Captchas are not that hard.

Not only captcha images but captcha words too. give more time maybe 30 to 40 seconds. It's a realistic time to log in and pass the systems.

As for the bot situation and how they are functioning: It's not obvious to someone that isn't coding the game nor runs anything in it. That's why it's called suggestions board. I just want to help factor in ideas

While it might suck to log in; once you're done you should be fine.

Anywhoo, the idea could work without having to remember me function the site. You can access the page and you would be in permanently with no random logouts. There's around 250 to 300 players on this game at most. But any other day it's way less. Nabi is still paying for loads of dead servers that stay at 0. The activity should be stable no matter how long we are on.

Some decent ideas here, but you're overcomplicating it. The fix is very likely just CloudFlare alone. There are a few different anti-bot settings that I expect aren't set up right now

lock the forum (or a major part of it except some introduction threads) for guests and force everyone who wants to access it to create an account / log in ??

I agree, its just simple coding like you say to see if it functioned. Java script or whatever c+ or c++ can replicate it on a more complex level because the coding is way more complex typing symbols than anything. You could indeed use Python slightly to understand the jist of the regular coding and to help dumb it down making the other coding easier with reference.

Sure, I'm saying that CloudFlare has done the complex work for us and bundled it up into a few convenient buttons that can probably fix this

What's the so many issues? Do tell. I never specifically stated which program they used. Again you are acting like I know which program they used to create a web page. Just like when you acted like it was blatantly obvious how bots aren't logging in when it wasn't obvious to us either.
