Server meltdown - reason
Hi,

We have had bad connections today to our database. This was due to another server being attacked that was located on the same network as we.

The hosting center is working on putting the attack down, which seems to have worked pretty well.
Would it be wrong if I celebrated since I wasn't affected this time?

Anyhoo, for the moment can people please refrain from making more threads in support about this. Just give it time & they'll sort it.

It affects us simply because it's boring the network that our server is on.
oi, very smart words from Sarge. I'm sure that every1's doin their best to fix da problem, so let them get to it. Also, wut w/ the constant restating of the obvious? ._.

What this means is, Toribash is on the same server that holds all the files that make this site and game work with other files of many other sites. So when one site on this server is "attacked" the hosting company most likely shut down the server temporarily, then brought it back up but is much slower than usual as they are still trying to fix the problems of the attacked site. Toribash was NOT attacked it was mearily caught in the crossfire. I expect it to be fixed in 3-4 buisiness days from my previous experience.

Sarge

What? No. Toribash is definitely not on the same server as anyone else. We have 6 dedicated servers. They are: 2 x Quad-Core Xeon, 4gb RAM, 3 x 146 GB SAS HDD, RAID 5, with 2000 GB on 100 Mbps Port.We do not share our stuff with anyone else, except the network we're on. Our database is on another server to take the load off the www server. However what happened, is we're on a shared switch and another server was DDoSed and therefore, the time it took from www -> database took forever and queries kept piling up and breaking.

So please, refrain from saying stuff unless you have inside knowledge.
