we made this replay just for explanation what turnover is, while ofcause it can be different, but the one thing stay the same: you use one arm to stand on ground and use another to throw opponent.

that was a response to: "lots of shovelers at classic aikido", so i added replay with blocking it, and yeah, that was done by lift, since i tried to avoid my legs being grabbed.

i can honestly say this was mfw i saw this.

thats rather better to have more interesting matches, then lots of same mess with doublegrabs and stuff isn't it?

yes, i belive that playing lenshu with grabs is the lamest way lenshu could be ever played, even tho i'm not regular at lenshu.

Or lenshu nograb is too complicated for you?

try to play nograb at classic aikido with comebacks on that small dojo.

this is what really hard to pull off.

or.. some helickicks may be?

or some standing fight?

ah, wait, i forgot that you are playing only abd/lenshu.

ever heard about spiritwrestling?.. there is a big dojo here, tho you can't win by damaging opponent.

It wouldnīt be conclusive continuing this "point the better thing" fest, we just have diferent playing styles that all.

why not, just give some arguments against what i said or some arguments for abd.
and add replays, thats what i also mean by arguments.

To be honest, i'm quite upset that most of players these days play abd/lenshu, while these mods aren't the best in each mod category, and there are alternatives for mods and playstyle, while people stuck with these 2.

and about "point of view"
not the best example here, but still:
alot of players use openers at wushu, run and tripoding, while the fairplay at wushu can be described in few terms like: improv, comeback always, even if you are leading by points ( i can add no noobhugs, but whatever ).
i'm pretty sure you can agree with this statement, then why you can't agree or atleast give a try to play the way we are trying to promote here? Days back that was a standart (sambo->aikido), before introduction of bd.

once you tried and succed at impro, you would not use any openers anymore.
once you tried and succed at throws, you would prefer to pull it off rather often, if not using only throws,

even tho throws are rather easy to counter then suplex, there is a risc of elbows dq etc etc, but after you done it in match, you will feel like you actually did something, not just another 1 qi and 10 tc.

when i started to play aikido i used kicklifts etc, and i could probably end up like that and play like.. some of current 10th dans, untill i was told there are other and better ways, which i tried and use atm,

is that bad to try to show people that there are lots of other ways to play a mod and variations, which are way more enjoyable?

aren't games like that worth time you waste on this game?

while you balancing on the edge
stand save.rpl

while pulling off some throws
game1.rpl

using chance to saves
from fly to standing.rpl

or keep going
keep going.rpl

Anyway, you don't had to throw opponent outside, i always try to throw inside the dojo, so still there is a chance to save.
emm i don't save replays when i loose after throw, but belive me, even that happens from time to time ( actually quite while ;p ), i feel rather satified, then if it could be a 100% no risc win.

so, if there are some unwritten rules in wushu for example, why there should not be any at aikido? for the sake of good games.

anyway, why do i hate bd in this case? as i probably stated at 1st post, and as it was written at wikipedia, direct damaging is not what aikido is meant to be.
While abd setting encourage people to earn poings, and dm opponent.

Thats it.

But why do you consider this unfair if its a way to get you more constricted then a clap? that wouldnīt even happen if you didnīt clap the "wrists contracting uke"
and besides the person isnīt cheating nor hacking just useing the functions that the game itself presented, how can such be consider foulplay.
If you clap and constrict their hands, how can it be fair for the other guy to actually move or do anything? Since he canīt simply avoid the grab like in real life.
You shouldnīt shun a movement that makes your useless.

i'm not. and this is not a problem for me, since i'm still able to lock his elbows.
the point is: wrists are one of the most essential joints in aikido. You can use em, but your opponent can't use em anymore. is that fair? and this is just a first turn.

I can also use wrists like that, but it would not leave much chances to opponent, thats why i use a clap, thats why i always try to throw opponent inside the dojo, not throwing him far outside, where there is no chances to save.
fairplay

or i can start in rather vantage point ( i mean other position of legs, then just relaxed ), play with forced suplex all the time, where there is no risc for me at all, and don't bothering myself to spin the opponent in the end and get 1 more qi and 10 tc, but is it worth it? ( spin on throw is risky already and at this moment if opponet will counter you you are getting dqed in 5/10 times. )
i'd rather risk, have a nice match but loose, then win without leaving any chance to opponent. sportsmanship.
for the sake of good game.

as i said, and as i stated on first post: game, replay > win/loss. i don't care did i won or not. there is no such things as win/loss to me. there are only: done everything correct or failed something.
if ok then play more, if no, then just wait. ;)

also about this:

there are other aikido-like mods then aikido and bd, spiritwrestling for example, where you can't harm your opponent directly, there is a wrists dq, and such move give rather more advantage. But again, is that's a fairplay?
but hey, you can counter it with torsograb! and what do you have in the end?
2 players stuck into one piece with doublegrabs
is that's a good game?

while the purpose of this org is to promote players to go for throws/turnovers/nstuff without damaging opponent directly.
3) turnover wasn't made properly, so you eneded up rather outside the dojo then your opponent.
4) very close match
5) luck

feel free ty try, and if you would not like it, i will take my words back.

agree about spars and stuff, afterall i used to play it for quite a while, i could probably find some ancient spar replays..., the thing what i'm trying to say is: every mod can be played with grace, and every replay can be worth watching, when you go for it ( the purpose of this org ), and evil crusade against bd? idk, if it can bring some attention to the way we play, may be some people will get interested, try it and re-open aikido for themselves. ;p

Secondly, extended(ungrabbed) wrists makes it immpossible to suplex because your opponent is not able to extend his wrists NO MATTER what he does. It'll always work if you know what you're doing.(Example two, opponent extended wrists at 360 frame, didn't work, I of course did change several joints every frame.)

As shown in Example number two, in situation of 'falling' extended wrists ARE ALWAYS better because there is a longer distance between your elbows and couldn't say the same about the contracted ones. (Example number two)

Since your elbows are closer to the ground, it means it is WAY easier to dq you.
Let's move to the pressure part. As shown in Example number two opponent in a very hard position because of his elbows. Creating pressure requires some skills actually. The pressure wasn't very strong in this case, but was enough to put opponent in trouble. It is possible to save it in that sitution(I was too lazy to edit the replay and make it impossible to save) but you get my point.

In a few particular situations(Example number 1, last few frames(last spin)) it is very good that your wrists are OUTSIDE. As you can see, there is nothing your opponent can do to prevent dq and that is just because OF CONTRACTED WRISTS.

There are a few more advantages that I'm too lazy to tell about, but I hop that I proved my point.

No doubt, there are a lot of disadvantages of extended wrists as well...Both openers have their own pros and cons...And you just can't change that.
Doesn't matter which tactic you use, if you know how to play, you WILL ALWAYS find a way to beat your opponent. That's it.

This is what i was actually waiting for, but...

1) both replays are abd
At first example you had to use lots of space to stand correct and then spin, classic aikido doesn't have that much free space, but let's skip it.
2) both replays were with situation when opponent extend pecs, while this is not really rational at all ( never seen a throw with pecks extended )
3) the exact situation what i was talking about is this:

why contracting wrists is gay and can't be considered as fairplay

in any other situation except this one it can be countered like any clap move, but if opponent get his arms like that, you will have a hard times trying to keep your elbows as you desired, while your wrists are useless, while your opponent will chill more or less.

and in this situation, if he will extend pecks, and doing the same thing like in your replay he will be safe, while his arms are "inside" yours. This is what i was talking about.
